Dr. Pierre Gagnon obtained his doctorate degree from the Faculty of Veterinary Medecine at the University of Montreal in 1993. He then completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery (IPSAV) in 1994. Dr. Gagnon has practiced in private small animal clinics, principally in the region of Montreal, notably in the emergency department at Centre Vétérinaire DMV in Ville St-Laurent. He was co-owner of a clinic in Montreal for 7 years before acquiring Hôpital Vétérinaire de L’Île-Perrot in 2008. Dr. Gagnon is a conscientious veterinarian who offers quality care based on the most up-to-date and pertinent medical studies. It is Dr. Gagnon’s main priority to be able to offer a variety of treatments that include preventive, medical, and surgical options adapted to the needs of each individual patient.
Dr. Maude Lebeau graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medecine in St-Hyacinthe (University of Montreal) in 1994 (Doctorate in Veterinary Medecine). Dr. Lebeau completed another year of intensive internship in small animal medicine and surgery, receiving her diploma in 1995 (IPSAV). Dr. Lebeau practiced in small animal medicine in a variety of private clinics, including the emergency medicine department at Centre DMV in Ville St-Laurent. During 14 years of practice, Dr. Lebeau devoted herself professionally to a veterinary clinic in the Montreal area well-known for its care of exotic animals. She was co-owner there for 9 years. Dr. Lebeau developed a rich and diverse expertise in exotic species (birds, rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, chinchillas, small rodents, reptiles and hedgehogs), her true passion. Dr. Lebeau completed further training in the field of avian and exotic animal medicine and surgery in the United States.
Dr. Lebeau joined the team at Hôpital Vétérinaire de L’Île-Perrot in 2011, where she has opened a department dedicated to avian and exotic animal medicine. Dr. Lebeau continues to practice, with great interest, canine and feline medicine as well.
Dr. Isabelle Foisy obtained her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Montreal in 1993. She immediately left to complete an internship in small animal and exotic medicine and surgery at The Animal Medical Center in New York City. She stayed for an additional year as an internal medicine resident before pursuing her career in private practice. Within state-of-the-art practices, she had the opportunity to utilize the knowledge and skills she had acquired in dentistry, exotic animals, abdominal ultrasound, endoscopy, internal medicine and preventive medicine to best serve all her patients with the dedication and compassion they deserve.
After 21 years in the United States, she is happy to have returned to Quebec. It is with great pleasure that she joins Dr. Gagnon, her former classmate, as part of the team at L’Hôpital Vétérinaire de L’Île-Perrot, in February 2017.
Dr. Tessier graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Montreal in 1995 and has been working with companion animals since that time. Dr. Tessier worked on the South Shore for 3 years before becoming a co-owner of a veterinary clinic in the Montreal area where she continued to practice for 16 years. For family reasons, Dr. Tessier chose to significantly reduce her working hours, but she missed her clients and veterinary medicine.
When Dr. Tessier decided to return to practice, L’Hôpital Vétérinaire de L’Île-Perrot welcomed her with eagerness and enthusiasm. For Dr. Tessier, service to her clients is very important. Establishing a relationship of trust and confidence with her animal patients and their owners are her passion. These are in keeping with the philosophy of every member of the team at L’Hôpital Vétérinaire de L’Île-Perrot where superior preventive medicine is practiced in an environment in which customer service is top priority.
Dr. Tessier became a member of the Academy of Veterinary Medicine (AMVQ) in 1997. Always studying and learning new techniques and practices, Dr. Tessier takes part in the continuing education programs offered to veterinarians in Quebec and elsewhere. Currently, in association with the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Montreal, Dr. Tessier is working on a project to help persons with compromised immune systems or undergoing chemotherapy to enjoy continued relationships with their companion animals during these difficult circumstances.
The team at L’Hôpital Vétérinaire de L’Île -Perrot whole-heartedly welcomes Dr. Hélène Tessier to our professional family.
Dr. Annik Hemmings obtained her diploma in veterinary medicine from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of St-Hyacinthe (University of Montreal) in 1998. Dr. Hemmings practiced in private animal clinics until 2003. With her years of experience, she developed a particular interest in general ophthalmology. With this in mind, she worked at Centre Vétérinaire DMV from 2003 to 2004 where she had the chance to acquire experience in emergency medecine and ophtalmology. Having worked in the past with Dr. Gagnon, it was with great pleasure that she was welcomed as part of the team at Hôpital Vétérinaire de L’Île-Perrot in 2010.
