Apoquel<\/strong> (oclacitinib) is a medication that targets certain proteins called cytokines, which cause itchiness and inflammation of the skin. Apoquel is more effective than the family of drugs that includes cortisone, and does not carry the miserable side effects so often reported by pet owners such as extreme thirst and frequent urination.<\/p>\n Apoquel is taken every 12 hours at the beginning of treatment, then once per day.
