If you have not had the time to stop by for your pet’s annual prevention, don’t worry. It is not too late. The season of intestinal parasites, fleas, and heartworm starts in May-June and lasts until November. For ticks, we recommend prevention from April to December. If your companion is already protected, you can rest easy for the whole season.

If life has been a whirlwind of activity and you haven’t yet had a chance to stop by, we can easily accommodate you with a visit with the vet, if required, and help you determine the type of prevention you need.

We know your time is precious. We are here to accommodate your busy schedule and find a time that is convenient for you to visit us. We will verify your pet’s file to determine what is needed to protect him/her and your family against unwanted parasites.

If your dog, cat or ferret has been seen for an exam during the past year, it may be possible to acquire prevention for fleas, ticks and intestinal parasites without a visit to the vet. For dogs, a heartworm blood test is suggested every year before starting the prevention for heart worm. A member of our staff would be happy to assess and discuss the needs of your companion.

Updating vaccines against rabies, leptospirosis, distemper for dogs (and ferrets), and leukemia and respiratory illnesses for felines may be required before boarding your pet during vacation, or before taking them with you on an outdoor adventure.
